Critics suggested the questions were intentionally designed to either make the guest "look bad" or "provoke" him to generate controversial video clips and topics.
3. Logical Contradictions: Zhou Han exhibited contradictory logic. He simultaneously argued that the current situation across the Strait is safer than during the Ma Ying-jeou era, yet he cited the massive current defense budget (NT940billionvs.Ma’sNT200 billion) as necessary for Taiwan to increase its strength. If the situation were truly safer, critics argue, such an enormous increase in military spending would be unjustified.
In conclusion, Zhou Han’s actions are seen as representing the "unscrupulous political wing", and the decision by DW to air the footage was a major mistake that caused "great damage" to the outlet.
